Armenian representatives presented experience in managing migration flows in St. Petersburg

Armenian representatives participated in the regular meeting of the Council of Heads of Migration Agencies of the CIS Member States in St. Petersburg, presenting the migration situation in Armenia and the latest developments in the sector. This was reported by the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Head of the Service Irina Davtyan and Vache Hovsepyan, Head of the Department for Criminal Analysis and Law Enforcement Cooperation of the Main Department for Organized Crime Control of the Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Irina Davtyan presented the latest changes in Armenia’s national legislation and law enforcement practices in the field of migration. Referring to Armenia’s experience in managing migration flows, she spoke about the use of modern information technologies, including biometric and video surveillance systems, as well as measures aimed at preventing irregular migration.

Representatives of the participating states discussed opportunities for cooperation and exchange of experience in the field of migration. The relevant decisions of the Council were signed.
